The study aims to evaluate how task explanation affects stereoacuity measurements in adults with normal binocular vision.
Randomized controlled study with 100 adults assigned to experimental and control groups.
Participants underwent two administrations of the Random Dot 2 Stereo Acuity Test with standard vs. enhanced instructions.
Stereoacuity and test completion time were measured to assess instruction effects.
Control group showed no significant change in stereoacuity (mean change 0.03 log10 arcsec, p = 0.125).
Experimental group had significant improvement in stereoacuity (mean change 0.45 log10 arcsec, p < 0.0001), with most reaching 63 arcsec.
Response time changes were similar between groups, but greater stereoacuity improvements in the experimental group correlated with longer response times (p < 0.0001).
