Descriptive research evaluates capacity building’s role in reducing resistance to digital maintenance tools in oilfields, suggesting improvements in efficiency.
The study examined the adoption of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and Resistance to Digital Maintenance Tools in Nigeria’s Oilfield Operations. The specific objectives are to examine the effect of Capacity Building and Training on Resistance to Digital Maintenance Tools and evaluate the effect of Infrastructure Upgrades on Resistance to Digital Maintenance Tools in Nigeria’s Oilfield Operations. The study adopted a descriptive research design. Structure questionnaire design with a five-point Likert scale were use to collect data for the study. Data collected was analyzed statistically through descriptive analysis and sample t-test for means comparison in each of the hypotheses. Capacity Building and Training has a significant positive effect on Resistance to Digital Maintenance Tools with a P-Value of (0.001<0.05) and Infrastructure Upgrades has a significant positive effect on Resistance to Digital Maintenance Tools with a P-Value of (0.000<0.05) in Nigeria’s Oilfield Operations. In conclusion, the adoption of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an essential step in improving maintenance efficiency within organizations through minimizing resistance to the use of digital maintenance systems. The study recommended that stakeholders, operators, and policymakers in Nigeria’s oilfield operations to ensure the successful adoption of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS): Institutions need to invest in modern digital infrastructure that will facilitate the adoption of CMMS.
