Demonstrates dual bond construction in ortho-substituted iodobenzene, indicating an efficient new strategy.
This report describes an efficient strategy for the dual construction of ortho -C–N and ipso -C(sp 2 )–C(sp 3 ) bonds via palladium/norbornene cooperative catalysis. This strategy employs N -benzoyloxyamine as a stable and readily available amine source for selective ortho -amination of ortho -substituted iodobenzene and utilizes potassium arylacetate as a benzyl nucleophile for the formation of ipso -C(sp 2 )–C(sp 3 ) bonds, efficient construction of o -aminodiarylmethanes in a single catalytic cycle. This strategy further expands the application of carboxylate in a Catellani reaction.
