This article describes a career exploration initiative as part of the professional training of adult learners in graduate programs. Specifically, it presents a practice innovation prompted by a key outcome of a survey conducted with adult learners in master’s graduate programs regarding their perceived support with respect to career exploration. The survey revealed adult learners’ dissatisfaction with the level of assistance in finding employment they received as a part of their degree program experiences. This innovation in practice describes an initiative to address this need in a systematic fashion via a comprehensive theme-based approach that introduces students to different sectors of the industry, provides practical advice on how to pursue relevant careers, and enables interactions with successful alumni.
