Climate change presents significant challenges to smallholder vegetable farmers, particularly in developing countries. This study investigates the influence of farmer group types (male and female), farmers’ characteristics, and group dynamics on the adoption of adaptation measures to climate change in Kenalan Hamlet, Pakis Subdistrict, Magelang Regency, Indonesia. A total of 40 respondents were surveyed, consisting of 14 male farmers and 26 female farmers. Using ordinal logistic regression, this study analyzes the relationship between farming experience, land area, age, length of formal education, membership status, group type, group dynamics, and the level of adaptation actions undertaken by farmers, namely information-seeking behavior and adaptive practices to deal with the impacts of climate change. The results indicate that education and group type significantly influence farmers’ likelihood of seeking information related to climate change adaptation, with higher education levels unexpectedly corresponding to lower information-seeking behavior; and members of female farmer groups were more likely to seek information on the impacts of climate change on farming. Farming experience and group type significantly enhance the likelihood of adopting climate change adaptive practices; farmers with more years of experience are more likely to implement adaptive practices, and male farmer groups are less likely than those in female farmer groups to adopt adaptive practices.
