Genome sequencing reveals the genetic makeup of Serratia plymuthica EIF4, suggesting potential biotechnological applications.
We present the complete genome sequence of the prodigiosin-producing bacterium Serratia plymuthica EIF4 isolated from freshwater in Osterode am Harz, Germany. The genome comprises a 5,539,881-bp chromosome and a 91,684-bp plasmid with guanine-cytosine contents of 55.84 and 52.36%, respectively.
