The role of single parent is a challenging one especially when the family is headed by a woman. Problem of single mothers are linked with the upbringing of children and their future. However, the researcher study the problem faced by single mothers about parenting, with this in mind, this work draws on qualitative field research undertaken in Gwammaja to illustrate how single mothers sources information to solve their problem. A sample of five (5) single mothers was selected by snowball sampling technique and using narrative analysis to analyze the data and an in-depth interview was conducted to reveal the experience single mother face in meeting their children needs. The result of the study revealed that financial problem was the main stressed for majority of the single mothers, they find it hard to maintain discipline and providing basic amenities among the children. Therefore, the study highlighted solutions to the challenges faced by single parents and this would be to expose them to information that would help them discover and take advantage of the available support services within their reach both by the government and other organizations.
