Literature review compares SCNT and iPSCs regarding safety and ethics in regenerative medicine, suggesting future directions.
This literature review provides a systematic, comparative analysis of somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) and induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) platforms within regenerative medicine. Driven by the ongoing bioengineering debate surrounding cellular reprogramming mechanics, this study evaluates whether modern chemical reprogramming techniques can fully neutralize iPSC oncogenic risks and render embryonic-destructive pipelines obsolete. A total of seven primary landmark peer-reviewed molecular biology studies published up to 2026 were extracted and organized into a qualitative evaluation matrix mapping baseline conversion efficiency, genomic copy number variations (CNVs), tumorigenesis variables, bioethical constraints, and cellular rejuvenation fidelity.
