Higher excited states (Sn≥2 and Tn≥2) affect the transitions between singlet and triplet excitations in molecules exhibiting thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) like the one depicted in this Cover Feature. The Sn≥2 states of such molecules can be located energetically in a femtosecond pump–probe experiment with probing covering the UV/Vis and NIR range.
