Many adolescents and young adults with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) face challenges related to sexuality, relationships, and fertility, which can negatively impact their quality of life. Current clinical guidelines emphasize the need for healthcare providers to address these aspects. Yet, there remains a lack of robust data regarding the implications of DMD on sexual and reproductive health. This article highlights the essential psychosocial topics that require attention. By reviewing existing literature and focusing on gaps in care, we aim to foster future research directions that will enhance the management and support strategies for individuals with DMD, ultimately improving their quality of life.
