Proposed institutional instrumentation layer defines critical financial mechanisms and analyzes historical market events, suggesting pathways for better calibrating financial models.
This manuscript proposes an institutional instrumentation layer beneath the published Finance Super Corridor defined in Appendix E of the Volume IV Instrumentation Handbook. It supplies concrete telemetry source mappings for six institutional nodes, a branch-and-reconverge causal topology with explicit critical-path logic, a complete worked mapping of the canonical 1974 Herstatt Bank failure through the full operator stack, and a provisional threshold-driven functional form for the corridor-level rupture operator R(Φ)(t). The work also introduces a non-linear threshold-switch mechanism for inter-corridor feedback edges that better captures discrete market shocks and provides explicitly grounded open items for the next iteration, including the undefined reliability aggregation path, Quant Fund/Asset Manager taxonomy gaps, and empirical calibration of the sensitivity (α) and collapse threshold (β) parameters. All extensions are offered as candidate structural hypotheses for stress-testing and collaborative calibration while maintaining strict consistency with the published canon. The manuscript forms part of the broader SCFL / UCMS coherence measurement framework. Status: For Zenodo publication and external review — additive to, not a revision of, the published Handbook.
