Dobutamine challenge drops diastolic FFR ~13%, improving detection of hemodynamically relevant myocardial bridges.
Why the study?
Does diastolic FFR with dobutamine challenge improve the identification of hemodynamic relevance in symptomatic patients with myocardial bridging compared to mean FFR?

Diastolic FFR with dobutamine challenge is superior to mean FFR for assessing the hemodynamic significance of myocardial bridges, as systolic pressure overshooting causes errors in mean FFR.
Escaned et al. (2003) conducted an observational in Myocardial bridging (n=12). Dobutamine challenge vs. Baseline (without dobutamine) was evaluated on Diastolic fractional flow reserve (FFR) (p=0.0006). Dobutamine challenge significantly decreased diastolic FFR from 0.88 to 0.77 (p=0.0006), identifying hemodynamic relevance in 5 of 12 patients compared to only 1 patient using mean FFR.
