Evaluates thermophysical parameters in cylindrical lithium-ion batteries, indicating a new measurement method's significance.
The thermophysical parameters of cylindrical batteries are the key premise of studying the thermal runaway, so it is crucial to accurately measure the thermophysical parameters. At present, a variety of measurement methods have been proposed on thermophysical parameters of lithium-ion batteries, but the heat loss in the measurement process is rarely considered. In this paper, an efficient and accurate measurement method is proposed. The measurement is carried out by combining the self-made adiabatic calorimeter and simulation. The standard part with known thermophysical parameters is used to compensate for the heat loss in the measurement process. The aerogel felt is used to replace the vacuum adiabatic environment. The standard part and the battery are heated in the same environment. The accuracy of the experimental results is verified by simulation. This proposed method measures the thermophysical parameters of the cylindrical lithium-ion battery without using expensive measuring instruments, which is time-consuming and accurate. It has great significance for subsequent thermal runaway research and the design of cooling systems for cylindrical batteries.
