This study examines the effect of various menu labeling designs on driving customers toward healthier food choices. Grounded in the Food Choice Process model and Implicit Attitude Theory, this study examines three menu labelling formats - numeric, traffic-light label, and physical activity-based labels, using a combined approach of eye-tracking experiment and qualitative study. The results suggest that customers’ visual attention was recorded at maximum on the numeric label for choosing healthier food items, indicating its effectiveness in conveying nutritional information. The findings of this study offer insights into effectively designing online restaurant menus and interfaces, improving customers’ healthy offerings.
