Demonstrates anticancer activity of β-carboline derivatives synthesized using Rh(III) catalysis, highlighting their therapeutic potential.
A straightforward access to diverse, highly functionalized β-carboline derivatives from 2-indolyl nitrone and alkynyl quinol has been established. This protocol features rhodium(III)-catalyzed Csp–Csp 3 bond cleavage and a Kinugasa-type reaction involving N–O bond cleavage as key steps, enabling the assembly of β-carbolines in moderate to good yields with good anticancer activity.
