Survey uncovers low awareness of the 988 crisis line in older adults, suggesting need for improved outreach.
Results of a survey of older adults reveal gaps in both this group's awareness of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and the likelihood that these individuals would use the crisis line during a mental health emergency. A total of 69% of respondents to the University of Michigan National Poll on Healthy Aging had not heard of the 988 service before taking the survey.
