Study reconstructs magnetization density in ³He, suggesting new insights into magnetic structure localization.
We employ Patterson function analysis to reconstruct the magnetization density of ³He. The resulting distribution is compact and strictly positive, with half‑maximum radii of 0.243 fm in the Patterson profile and 0.159 fm in the derived density. These values are markedly smaller than conventional scattering estimates, pointing to a highly localized magnetic structure. Integration of the reconstructed density yields a net magnetization of 13.0, nearly six times the magnitude of the measured helion moment (−2.127 µN), underscoring the persistent gap between empirical reconstructions and established measurements. The analysis reveals a sharp central maximum followed by rapid attenuation, consistent with a finite, non‑singular internal architecture. This model‑independent approach offers new perspectives on nuclear magnetization and motivates further theoretical refinement.
