This paper proposes a conceptual homeostatic model of pain in the Lacanian subject. Homeostatic is used here in a qualified sense: the subject is regulated around a resting organization, but that organization is itself a movable set-point, so crisis can leave permanent displacement. The model is therefore path-dependent and hysteretic, closer to allostasis than to return to an invariant original level. It distinguishes structural malestar from dolor. Malestar follows from the persistent surplus of jouissance over pleasurable regulation. Pain emerges when a historical displacement of the resting organization remains unintegrated and is accompanied by crisis-specific oscillatory energy. The resting floor is identified with the dynamic bias b (t) of the underlying oscillator. Historical displacement is H (t) = b₀ − b (t) ₊, while the actively unintegrated portion is Wc (t) = χ (t) H (t), with 0 ≤ χ (t) ≤ 1. The surplus is S (t) = J (t) − P (t). Oscillatory energy Eₒsc (t) is derived from the trajectory relative to the forced equilibrium rather than posited independently. Pain is represented as a bounded function gated by Wc (t), not as pleasure subtracted from jouissance or as a ratio between them. The formulation distinguishes ordinary incompletion, acute impact, prolonged non-integration, damping, and permanent scar. It also permits a provisional clinical extension through unequally weighted channels of jouissance. The model is a formal analogue, not a quantitative diagnostic instrument or a point-predictive clinical model. Its central claim is structural: pain recedes not when the historical displacement disappears, but when the displaced level becomes inhabitable as a resting organization.
