Conceptual framework explores moral self-legislation in authority models, implicating ethical responsibilities.
This conceptual paper examines Superman’s extraordinary and largely uncoercible power in relation to Nietzsche’s Übermensch and introduces the Responsible Bearer as an ethical model of authority. It argues that the less externally constrainable an actor becomes, the greater that actor’s obligation to practice voluntary restraint, provide transparent reasons, remain answerable to affected persons, and preserve meaningful opportunities for refusal and contestation. Integrating Mythotechnic Fiction, dark leadership, metaphysics, and the Unified Theory of Mythic Authority, the paper distinguishes responsible power from exceptionalism, paternal sovereignty, saviorhood, domination, and self-authorized rule. Superman’s moral significance lies not simply in possessing superior power, but in continually bearing that power without converting capacity into entitlement.
