A single-phase AC-DC converter based on switched capacitor is proposed. This converter is an integration of basic boost converter and switched capacitors. This rectifier is controlled by an average current control method which comprises of two feedback loops, that is, voltage control loop and current control loop to produce unity power factor. The proposed converter develops a DC voltage more than the peak value of AC supply. Apart from this, all the components are subjected to voltage less than the DC output voltage, that is, almost half. A prototype model with AC voltage of 75 V and output voltage of 300 V with power 75 W is developed to validate the results.
