Standardization of normal reference values for cardiac chamber size in echocardiography is essential to account for global diversity and overcome limitations of previous Caucasian-centric databases.
Why the study?
Current echocardiographic normal reference values for cardiac chamber size are largely derived from non-standardized databases of Western Caucasian individuals, despite evidence that cardiac sizes vary globally.
This review emphasizes the necessity of establishing globally diverse and standardized normal reference values for echocardiographic cardiac chamber quantification.
Risks misclassification of chambers in diverse populations using Caucasian references; leaves open need for global normative databases.
World Alliance of Societies of Echocardiography Normal Values studyという研究が実施された.

Miyoshi et al. (2023) conducted a review in Cardiac chamber size evaluation. Echocardiography was evaluated. Standardization of normal reference values for cardiac chamber size in echocardiography is essential to account for global diversity and overcome limitations of previous Caucasian-centric databases.
