Further tests of the bismuth titanate ferroelectric-photoconductor (FE-PC) optical storage medium have been conducted. Electrically controlled optical hologram writing and erasure in an FE-PC device at a 100 Hz repetition rate was performed. Substantial improvement in quality of direct images in depoled Bi4Ti3OI2 devices is calculated and verified using the refractive index readout mode. A surface mechanism for high resolution information storage is proposed. Supporting evidence is presented.
