Explores media effects on child health, emphasizing Ayurveda's protective strategies.
It's hard to deny or get away from social media because it changes so quickly in front of our eyes. Many people are worried about how the growing use of smart phones by kids will affect their physical, mental, and emotional health. The media has a big effect on how kids grow up socially and mentally. So, doctors should talk to parents or guardians about how much media their child is exposed to and help them learn how to use all social media in a way that is appropriate for their age. This includes TV, audio-video music, audio-video games, and the internet, such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and other sites.Newspapers, websites, and mobile devices have all been shown to have very strong effects on children's social and behavioral development, both good and bad.Ayurveda offers many ways to help kids cope with the harmful effects of social and electronic media. These include Sadvritta (a personal and social code of conduct), Dincharya, Ritucharya, Swarnaprashana, and the use of Medhya-Rasayan.These steps can help kids' mental and social development as well as their brain development. This article looks at studies that show how media can affect children's physical, behavioral and mental growth and how Ayurveda can help lower those risks.
