Case report shows the impact of treating obstructive sleep apnea on sinus pause symptoms, suggesting a non-invasive approach.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common condition associated with various bradyarrhythmias, including sinus bradycardia, sinus pauses, and atrioventricular block. However, not all cases necessitate permanent pacemaker implantation. We present the case of a 58-year-old obese male who was referred for pacemaker implantation due to prolonged sinus pauses but was subsequently diagnosed with OSA. Following appropriate treatment for OSA, his symptoms resolved, and pacemaker implantation was not required.
