Demonstrates an efficient synthesis of difluoro-lactam azaspiro compounds, suggesting potential for drug development.
This work presents a photoredox‐catalyzed cascade ipso ‐cyclization strategy for the synthesis of azaspiro[4.5]trienones bearing an α , α ‐difluoro‐ γ ‐lactam moiety under mild conditions. While both azaspiro[4.5]trienones and α , α ‐difluoro‐ γ ‐lactams are recognized as pharmaceutically relevant scaffolds, their incorporation into a single molecular framework has not been previously explored. This visible‐light‐driven method provides an efficient and sustainable route to access α , α ‐difluoro‐ γ ‐lactam‐substituted azaspiro[4.5]trienones, offering broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance. The resulting compounds represent promising candidates for future drug discovery and development.
