The high number of births to unmarried teenagers has made adolescent pregnancy a public health concern. This study of adolescent mothers and mothers-to-be compared subgroups of white non-Hispanics, English-speaking Mexican Americans, and Spanish-speaking Mexican Americans and found acculturation to be a factor that influenced adolescents' attitudes, behavior, and knowledge about reproduction and contraception.
