Novel converter design achieves high voltage gain and efficiency in renewable energy systems, suggesting practical benefits.
This paper presents a novel non‐isolated high step‐up DC–DC converter featuring two power switches with reduced voltage stress. The proposed topology achieves a high voltage gain without employing transformers or coupled inductors, making it suitable for renewable energy systems and electric vehicle applications. Two distinct switching strategies, namely complementary switching and simultaneous switching, are investigated to enhance voltage gain over different duty‐cycle ranges. By optimally combining these two strategies, the converter attains high voltage gain, reduced semiconductor stress, and improved efficiency across a wide operating range. A comprehensive theoretical analysis, including steady‐state operation and loss evaluation, is conducted. The performance of the proposed converter is validated through simulations and experimental results obtained from a 200 W laboratory prototype. The experimental results demonstrate a maximum efficiency of 96.4%, confirming the effectiveness, reliability, and practical applicability of the proposed converter.
