Review explores AI's impact on smart grids, fault diagnosis, and industrial robotics, highlighting key challenges.
In recent years, artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning and deep learning, has emerged as a powerful tool for solving complex problems in electrical engineering. The ability of these methods to analyze large volumes of data, uncover hidden patterns, and make decisions under uncertainty has made them well suited to applications such as smart grid management, electrical equipment fault diagnosis, and intelligent control of industrial robots. This article briefly reviews the foundations of AI relevant to electrical engineering before examining three core application areas: smart grids, fault diagnosis and predictive maintenance, and industrial robotics and automation. It then discusses current challenges and future prospects. The review shows that while AI holds significant potential to improve the efficiency, reliability, and safety of electrical systems, successful implementation depends on data quality, computational infrastructure, and skilled personnel.
