A triple fixed-dose combination of amlodipine, atorvastatin, and perindopril provides synergistic clinical benefits and improves treatment adherence in patients with hypertension and dyslipidemia.
Why the study?
Hypertension and dyslipidemia are leading factors determining the course of atherosclerotic diseases, necessitating a multifactorial approach to treatment in patients with multiple risk factors.
Does combined antihypertensive and lipid-lowering therapy improve adherence and clinical outcomes in patients with hypertension and dyslipidemia?
Does combined antihypertensive and lipid-lowering therapy improve adherence and clinical outcomes in patients with hypertension and dyslipidemia?
Fixed-dose combination therapy with antihypertensive and lipid-lowering agents, such as amlodipine, atorvastatin, and perindopril, offers a promising strategy to improve treatment adherence in patients with multiple cardiovascular risk factors.
May support adherence in hypertension with dyslipidemia; leaves open confirmation in prospective randomized trials.
This article provides an overview of data on the role of hypertension and dyslipidemia as the leading factors determining the clinical course of athero sclerotic diseases. The need for a multifactorial approach to the treatment of patients with multiple risk factors for the progression of such diseases is noted. The article describes the results of large-scale international studies confirming the clinical benefits of combined antihypertensive and lipid-lowering therapy. From the point of view of current clinical guidelines and the available evidence base, the potential for improving adherence to treatment using a combination of anti hypertensive and lipid-lowering drugs are presented. The article discusses the prospects for optimizing the therapy of comorbid patients using a triple fixed-dose combination, including amlodipine, atorvastatin and perindopril.

Gorokhova et al. (2022) conducted a review in Hypertension and dyslipidemia. Triple fixed-dose combination (amlodipine, atorvastatin, perindopril) was evaluated. A triple fixed-dose combination of amlodipine, atorvastatin, and perindopril provides synergistic clinical benefits and improves treatment adherence in patients with hypertension and dyslipidemia.
