Summary Hypoplasia of the mandible in association with glossoptosis and often with palatoschisis is a not altogether unusual disease, often serious and probably not seldom overlooked. Of the 2 cases described here, the first one in particular is interesting. It shows the effect, in this case no doubt life‐saving, of a simple and logical therapy: the prone position and “orthostatic feeding”.
