Our attention was drawn to the paper by Dr Arunachalam and colleagues about surgical resection of colorectal cancer lung metastases.1 They cite the preliminary report of the Pulmonary Metastasectomy in Colorectal Cancer (PulMiCC) randomized controlled trial but overlook the full 2020 report of 93 randomized patients.2 In a systematic review of 64 papers referring to PulMiCC by the end of 2021, independent analysts found that PulMiCC was summarily dismissed by 57 (89%) of them, with incomplete and misleading references to the study.
