In the context of global warming and diversified urbanization, it is necessary to consider the coupling coordination degree (CCD) between carbon emission environment of urban agglomeration and urbanization represented by economic-social-housing-public system for sustainable regional development. First, this paper constructs the evaluation index system of urbanization and urban environment system. Using the criteria importance though intercriteria correlation (CRITIC) weights method and the CCD model, the current status of the system and the coordination divergence in China's Yangtze River Delta region from 2000 to 2019 are analyzed. Then, based on the consideration of the spatial distribution of cities, this paper uses the GeoDetector model to sort out the key indicators affecting the CCD and the interactions between indicators. The results show the following: (1) From 2000 to 2019, the level of diversified urbanization, the level of carbon emission environment, and the CCD increase significantly. However, regional differences are large, with obvious differences between provincial capitals and their peripheral and marginal areas. (2) More than economic and environmental systems, indeed, several indicators of residential and public systems have a significant impact on the CCD adaptation. (3) The weight of carbon emissions on the regional CCD increases each year, becoming one of the most important factors in 2019. (4) In terms of influencing factors, the CCD is a synergistic effect of several factors. There is an obvious 1 + 1 > 2 relationship between technology and environmental indicators and other indicators.
