Introduces a new framework that explains how self-directed actions emerge from environmental constraints, suggesting a new understanding of agency.
DESCRIPTION: This paper completes the Emergence of Agency by resolving the contradiction between passive physical dynamics and the appearance of directed, self‑initiated action. Classical physics provides no mechanism for agency, while cognitive science describes its components without explaining its origin. Using the Carlo Framework, the paper introduces a contradiction‑driven mechanism in which agency emerges as a stable attractor produced by resolving conflicts between environmental constraint and internal variability. The trajectory update rule formalises how systems transition from reactive behaviour to self‑directed action, while the Reset Operator > mechanises the formation of stable agentic states. This provides a unified account of agency as a structural, mechanistic outcome rather than a metaphysical assumption. The result is a dynamic theory of agency grounded in contradiction resolution.
