The authors use the static correlations calculated from the hypernetted chain equation for the two-component plasma in a generalised Vlasov equation to estimate the effects of strong plasma coupling on spectral lineshapes and Thomson scattering signals. The authors find Thomson scattering to be much more sensitive to such effects than the lineshapes.
