Single crystals of RbMn[Fe(CN)6]·H2O reveal temperature-dependent partial reversible switching from the high- (LS FeIII and HS MnII) to low-temperature configuration (LS FeII and HS MnIII). This can be explained by proposing iron sites differing in electron transfer capability. At 4 K, optical switching to the high-temperature configuration is detected.
