Toung et al. (1996) conducted an RCT in Transient global cerebral ischemia (n=25). cAMP or dibutyl-cAMP vs. Saline was evaluated on Recovery of somatosensory evoked potentials (% of preischemic baseline value at 180 mins of reperfusion) (p=< .05). Pretreatment with dibutyl-cAMP or cAMP improved recovery of somatosensory evoked potentials to 70% and 58% of baseline, respectively, compared to 28% for saline controls (p < .05).
