This poster demonstrates how the CMECS Catalog aligns with FAIR principles through semantic web frameworks.
This poster describes the internal "anatomy" of the CMECS Catalog to demonstrate its alignment with the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles. FAIR vocabulary criteria are achieved by translating the hierarchical and relational structures of the CMECS Catalog of ecological units into a semantic web framework using Resource Description Framework (RDF) and Web Ontology Language (OWL) schemas, and providing open access via publicly available tools and platforms.
