The eigenkets of continuous-time direct detection are derived, thus establishing an explicit representation of this quantum measurement as a continuous-time observable. The utility of this representation is illustrated by applying it to single-mode photon counting, and by demonstrating its Fourier duality to the quantum basis for frequency-spectrum measurement.
