Case report demonstrating implant retention for MRSA infection after total ankle arthroplasty, suggesting CLAP can be effective.
Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is one of the most serious complications following total ankle arthroplasty (TAA), and implant retention is often challenging, particularly in delayed-onset infections. Continuous local antibiotic perfusion (CLAP) has recently gained attention as an effective treatment for fracture-related infections and PJI following total hip arthroplasty and knee arthroplasty; however, its application in PJI after TAA has not been reported in the literature.
