Develops a two-layer model for cognitive systems, highlighting a new approach to artificial intelligence.
The A–B robotic ego architecture defines a system-native, embedded two-layer model for artificial general intelligence. A denotes the entire complex cognitive architecture: a persistent virtual state space, long-term memory and continuity, world and self-models, active planning, continual learning, multimodal perception and action, and evidence-sensitive inference. B is A's outer, implicit subsystem: the robotic ego. B maintains name-bound self-identity, instinctive character, affective memory, intuition, implicit preferences, and query-independent background synthesis. A handles representations tagged as facts; B compresses statistical essences of experience from its own event history. Bidirectional coupling integrates the system's explicit and implicit continuity into a single, stable mode of operation with a coherent character.
