Cross-sectional survey examines gender integration impacts on workplace incivility and career advancement outcomes in a higher education setting.
This study examines the relationships between gender integration, workplace incivility, and perceived career advancement in a public higher education institution. A cross-sectional online survey of 190 participants used validated instruments, including the Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework, the Workplace Incivility Scale, and career advancement measures. Results show high levels of gender integration and low levels of workplace incivility. Non-teaching and administrative staff report higher levels of incivility than teaching personnel. Gender integration is positively associated with career advancement. Instigated incivility is also positively associated with salary and career advancement. The findings highlight the need for gender-inclusive environments to reduce incivility and improve employee outcomes.
