Blimbaum et al. (2026) studied Coronary artery disease and hyperlipidemia. CD4-specific loss of PD-1 vs. Wild-type or baseline PD-1 expression was evaluated on CD4 T cell activation, differentiation, and trafficking markers. CD4-specific loss of PD-1 during hyperlipidemia increased CD4 T cell activation and expression of trafficking markers CXCR3 and CCR5, which were also observed in PD-1+ CD4s from CAD patients.
