Demonstrates enhanced cell viability on 5% TPU films in skin tissue engineering, suggesting effective wound healing potential.
This study focuses on producing thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) films as a wound dressing material. The TPU film was fabricated with different concentrations (5, 10, 15, 17, 20, and 25 %) via the film casting method at room temperature. According to the morphological results detected from the scanning electron microscope (SEM), the 5% and 10% TPU were ideal film structures. The tensile test results showed that with a high TPU amount, the tensile strength and strain values decreased slightly. The biocompatibility test was performed with the NIH/3T3 cell line using the XTT method. The results demonstrated that the cells cultured on 5% TPU film showed high viability compared to cells cultured on 10% TPU film.
