This project investigates how Duodenum Mucosal Resurfacing improves metabolism by reshaping gut microbiota and altering bile acid profiles.
This project investigates how Duodenum Mucosal Resurfacing (DMR) improves metabolism. Our central hypothesis is that DMR reshapes the gut microbiota and alters bile acid profiles, which in turn activate a vagus nerve–mediated brain–gut axis to regulate blood glucose levels. This study will provide mechanistic insights into DMR as a potential therapy for metabolic diseases.
