Novel nanomagnetic catalyst demonstrates efficient synthesis of aminocarbonitriles, suggesting green chemistry advances.
In this study, Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @NH-TCT-TETA@Cu nanoparticles were developed as a novel and reusable heterogeneous nanocatalyst. The catalyst was synthesized through the successive functionalization of Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 nanoparticles with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES), followed by grafting of cyanuric chloride (TCT) and triethylenetetramine (TETA), and subsequent immobilization of copper species. The synthesized nanocatalyst was thoroughly characterized using FT-IR, SEM, TEM, TGA, VSM, EDX, elemental mapping, and ICP analyses. The catalytic performance of Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @NH-TCT-TETA@Cu was evaluated in the synthesis of ortho-aminocarbonitriles under green reaction conditions. The results demonstrated excellent catalytic activity, affording the desired products in high yields within short reaction times, along with facile magnetic separation and efficient catalyst recovery.
