F-18 FDG PET/CT detects an unusual hypermetabolic right atrial metastasis in testicular carcinoma.
Case Report (n=1)
Highlights the utility of F-18 FDG PET/CT in detecting rare cardiac metastases, such as right atrial involvement in testicular carcinoma.
Rare right atrial metastasis in testicular germ cell tumors warrants staging awareness; leaves open the value of routine cardiac PET/CT evaluation.
27-year old male patient with an unusual metastasis of a mixed germ cell testicular carcinoma to the right atrium is presented. F-18 FDG PET/CT imaging revealed a primary lesion in the left testis, multiple lymph node metastases, and bilateral pulmonary lesions consistent with metastatic disease. Additionally, a hypermetabolic lesion was detected in the right atrium. Subsequent pathological examination confirmed that the right atrial lesion was a metastatic mixed germ cell tumor.

Çiçekli et al. (2026) conducted a case report in Mixed germ cell testicular carcinoma with right atrial metastasis (n=1). F-18 FDG PET/CT imaging was evaluated on Detection of right atrial metastasis. F-18 FDG PET/CT imaging successfully detected an unusual hypermetabolic right atrial metastasis in a 27-year-old male with mixed germ cell testicular carcinoma.
