Case report evaluating 18F-FDG PET/CT findings in laryngeal lymphoma, indicating effective diagnosis and treatment.
Primary laryngeal lymphoma is an extremely rare extranodal manifestation of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, accounting for less than 1% of all laryngeal neoplasms. We report a case of isolated primary B-cell lymphoma of the larynx evaluated with 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging. PET/CT demonstrated intense FDG uptake (SUVmax: 16.3) in the laryngeal lesion, while mild FDG uptake (SUVmax: 5.5) was observed in the right palatine tonsil, likely of inflammatory origin. The patient underwent R-CHOP therapy, and both interim and post-treatment PET/CT scans showed complete metabolic and anatomic response. This case highlights the critical role of 18F-FDG PET/CT in the staging and management of rare primary laryngeal lymphomas.
