Experimental demonstration of a fiber-optic system enabling time synchronization and data communication, suggesting improved efficiency in resource utilization.
In this work, we present a fiber‐optic integrated system for frequency dissemination, time synchronization, data communication, and vibration sensing for the first time. A dual‐stage modulation strategy is employed to construct a composite beam carrying the four functionalities. Through a compact optical spectral design and independent radio‐frequency sub‐band allocation, different functional signals can be transmitted over a co‐wavelength‐channel. The proposed integrated system is experimentally demonstrated over an 85‐km fiber link. A frequency transfer stability of and , time synchronization stability of and , a bit error rate better than , and precise localization of vibration events occurring along the link are achieved. The results show that the proposed integrated system enables parallel operation of multiple functionalities without additional channels, significantly enhancing fiber resource utilization and extending the functional dimension of time and frequency synchronization networks.
