Ultraviolet divergence and scaling in a class of singular potentials

For the class of singular potentials r 2 + λ/ r α , the perturbation theory in λ has an ultraviolet divergence for a range of α which causes the perturbation series to be ordered by λ Z , where Z is a fraction less than unity. We use a scaling argument to find Z in any dimension N .
