Hydatidosis, an important parasitic zoonotic disease, remains a major public health challenge in many countries. The traditional approach for managing hydatidosis, which considers humans, livestock, and the environment separately, has failed to fundamentally interrupt the transmission cycle of the Echinococcus granulosus parasite. The current review provides a critical, comprehensive overview of new and up-to-date approaches within the One Health framework in order to prevent and control hydatidosis. These approaches emphasize deeper integration of knowledge and interdisciplinary actions across human, veterinary, and environmental health. In this regard, the main outcomes of this perspective are the identification and analysis of several key innovative axes: first, the application of rapid, AI-based diagnostic technologies and nanotechnology in monitoring and identifying disease foci in livestock and humans; Second, the development of new-generation vaccines for definitive hosts and intermediate hosts; third, the use of geographic information systems and satellite tracking for environmental risk prediction and management; and fourth, the design of effective community-based education campaigns using digital tools. The transition from limited control to the prospect of sustainable elimination of hydatidosis will be possible only through the adoption and investment in these integrated and innovative strategies within the framework of the "One Health" paradigm. This transformation requires strong political will, international cooperation, and the allocation of sufficient resources to create an inextricable link between technological advances and coordinated implementation measures at all levels.
